Care – children

Children and young people under the age of 18 who are asylum seekers have the right to the same health care and dental care as children and young people who are residents of Sweden. The care is free and provided by the respective healthcare provider.

The region's 1177 Care Guide and explain the condition and that it concerns asylum-seeking children/youth. You will then be referred to the correct reception. Staff at the accommodation or the Swedish Migration Board can also help.

Important:

The child/youth needs to show their LMA card so that the region can register that it is care for an asylum-seeking child/youth.
